Kontinen Eyes another Grand
Slam
Henri
Kontinen, fresh from triple
doubles success in Astrid
Bowl, the French Open and
the lead-up tournament in
Roehampton, is looking to
add another doubles Grand
Slam title to his growing
reputation as the No 1
Junior doubles player in the
world.
Added to this, he also made
the semi-finals of
Roehampton singles, the main
lead-up tournament to Junior
Wimbledon and today plays
his third round of Junior
Wimbledon. If he wins today
he announces himself as a
contender for the singles
title as well as the
doubles.
Henri’s rise in the Junior
rankings over the last 18
months is nothing less than
spectacular and the goal of
a World Junior Top 10 finish
is now well within his
grasp.
MCTA is proud of both Henri
and his achievements and
looks forward to his
continued success. MCTA
would like to thank the ITF
and the coaches of the ITF
European Team who have been
working with Henri in the
lead up to the French and
Wimbledon and it’s a tribute
to their work that Henri has
continued to improve whilst
under their guardianship
during this period
After Wimbledon Henri is again expected to play Davis Cup for Finland which is a
tremendous achievement for such a young man.
