Junior French Open doubles title for Kontinen

MCTA player Henri Kontinen who is part of the European ITF travelling team for the 2008 summer has continued building on his fantastic year in doubles proving himself to be the best doubles junior in the world.

Henri and his partner Christopher Rungkat from Indonesia beat convincingly Jaan-Frederik Brunken from Germany and Matt Reid from Australia 60, 63 and finished the tournament without dropping a single set.

David Sammel (Director of Tennis) said: "Winning the French Open is an honour that caps off a run of excellent doubles results. I reminded him yesterday that there is a big difference between being Champion and runner-up, but I have to say the manner of his victory is impressive. He has an excellent chance of adding the Wimbledon title later this month and hopefully he can go deep into the singles draw as well because grass is perfect for his style of play."
