Kontinen Selected for
Finnish Davis Cup
Henri
Kontinen who is at a
career high 37 in ITF
juniors has been
selected for the Finnish
Davis Cup squad to face
South Africa in Finland.
The South African team
will feature MCTA’s Wes
Moodie and the fast
improving Kevin
Anderson. This is an
honour for Henri and an
indication of the
progress he has made in
the past year. For our

Henri has earned his
place with his debut in
Challenger doubles was
the finest in history
when he made the final
of the $75,000 in his
own country and recently
in Asia winning an ITF
group 2 in singles and
doubles (w Vucic) and
making the finals of a
group 1 tournament a
week later.
As a junior he has also
secured his first ATP
point in singles late
2007 and this week he
qualified for the Future
in Britain losing in 3
sets to the number 2
seed (Dawid
OLEJNICZAK (POL) 6-2
6-7(5) 6-1).
In the doubles event of
the same tournament he
teamed up with his
finalist partner from
the challenger and they
are now in the semifinal
after defeating Bains
and Prichard from Great
Britain 63, 63 in the
first round and having a
Walk Over against
British Bamford and
Goodall.
After the Davis Cup
Henri will focus on the
lead up to the French
Open and Wimbledon
juniors with an eye on
the top 20 juniors.
