Brave Vucic Bows Out in Semifinals

Ilija Vucic finally ran out of steam after a brave run to the semifinals of the 15th International Junior Tournament in Citta' Di Prato, Italy.

Ilija, who began the week just outside the Top 100 of the junior rankings, stormed past Tomislav Jotovski and Adrien Puget in the first couple of rounds, but then ran into Ignacio Marire of Argentina in the quarterfinals.

The pair traded through three pulsating sets before Ilika eventually prevailed 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(7).

Attempting to rebound for the semifinals proved difficult, however, and the Monte Carlo Tennis Academy player was comfortably beaten 6-2, 6-0 by eventual champion, Enric Fioravante of Italy.

Ilija will now move onto the 29th International Junior Tournament "Citta' Di Santa Croce" 2007 as he continues his rise up the junior rankings.
