Fitzpatrick Hopes to Continue Run in Croatia; Veselinovic Prepares for US Swing

Anna Fitzpatrick will hope to build on her final appearance in Sunderland and her run to the quarterfinals in Bath last week when she gets back on court in Croatia.

Anna fought past compatriot Naomi Broady and sixth seed Jennifer Tuchband to reach the last eight in Bath, before running into No.3 seed and eventual finalist Katerina Vankova of the Czech Republic.

Anna fought hard before going down 6-1, 7-5, and realized immediately where she had gone wrong.

“At the start, I didn’t play aggressively enough so the trend I set wasn’t good enough,” said Anna.

“I started to change that in the 2nd set but it was too late to turn it around.”

The Monte Carlo Tennis Academy (MCTA) player has now moved inside the World’s Top 600 to her highest career ranking of No.591, and she will look to continue her good form against some quality opposition in Croatia.

Meanwhile, Ana Veselinovic will be put through her paces by MCTA fitness trainer Jez Green ahead of a stretch of Challenger tournaments in the United States.
