“Real Find” for MCTA Squad as Third Player is Picked

The MCTA is proud to announce the selection of British player Oscar Podlewski to its team.  Oscar who is 18 years old is the number one player for Middlesex as well as this year’s quarter finalist at both the U18 British Junior Championships and Catalonia Championships.

MCTA Director of Coaching David Sammel said, “Oscar is a real find for the MCTA and British tennis. He has trained in Spain for two years and has a big game that needs polishing for the tour. We have no doubt that his dedication will allow him to quickly develop a game that will take him far.”

Oscar’s greatest strengths are his serve and solid baseline game.  The British player started playing aged seven and currently his favourite playing surface is hard.

When asked about his acceptance into the MCTA squad Oscar said, “I feel very happy to have been chosen. It is a fantastic opportunity to bring my game to the next level with the MCTA coaching team. I am a very hard worker and with the coaches' help I am sure that they will be very happy with me. There will also be many opportunities to play important tournaments and improve my ranking. I am looking forward very much to starting my training programme.

Away from the courts Oscar likes to read, watch movies and spend time with his family and friends.
