The MCTA Signs its First Player!

The Monte Carlo Tennis Academy (“MCTA”) is thrilled to confirm the arrival of its first player Anna Fitzpatrick, from Sheffield, Great Britain.  Anna is seventeen and is currently a full time member of the Leeds LTA National Academy.

Anna started playing tennis at the age of five and her accolades include winning the U14 European Tennis Association singles in Portugal, the U15 British Nationals and the U18 British Grand Prix.  She is a tough player loving nothing more than to hit aggressively both from the back of the court and at the net.  Director of Coaching David Sammel believes she has the right game plan to make a big impact on the tour in years to come:

Anna has a clear attacking game plan that is maturing well. This style of play will stack up perfectly in the pro game once she fills out and mentally accepts the level of constant aggression needed for the highest levels in tennis.

Anna plays right handed and her favourite surface is acrylic.  Whilst not playing tennis she is a keen swimmer, enjoying scuba diving and snorkelling as well as listening to music in her spare time.

The MCTA officially starts on September 4th 2006.  It is a unique, elite international Academy based at the Monte Carlo Country Club for seven weeks of the year and spending the remainder of the time on tour, playing in the junior and senior circuits.  The Academy chooses to work with no more than ten players, aged 16 upwards and only those who aspire to be the best they can possibly be both on and off the court.
