Vincent Hillsdon
Co-Founder

Vincent Hillsdon (Vin) has resided with his family in Monaco for 16 years. He worked closely with David Sammel to secure the Monte Carlo Country Club as home base for the MCTA.

He provided the initial investment into the Academy. The Monte Carlo Tennis Academy Limited is a UK company now in a position to raise its own investment to secure a profitable future.

David combined his education at North Texas State University, USA, with a full tennis scholarship and graduated with a BA in Economics and English. Click here for more information about David

Marketing Director: Mike Frey

Mike has been in media for nearly 25 years. Recently he set up a UK division of Advantage Publishing, his Australian company and established a successful consultancy business for both digital and traditional media. The consultancy flourished and in March 2007, a contract publishing division was launched with the LTA’s Ace Magazine and British Tennis being the first two titles. Since then a number of other tennis magazines and web projects have been won by Advantage Publishing and the company is about to launch its first significant sports web portal for the tennis market.

Non Executive Director: Michael Schapira

Graduated with a textile business degree from the University of Leeds and an ACWA (business accountancy) from the Scottish College of Textiles.

Became an expert in production management in the clothing industry in Montreal (1970-75), Seoul, Korea (1976). Joined Jardine Matheson of Hong Kong to run their light industry division (1977-81).

Left in 1981 to found own group of companies – Harrogate House Group, which grew to include over 30 factories in Hong Kong and China. Sold the group to a US consortium in 1994. Currently a director and shareholder in 2 retail service companies in South Africa.


Day to Day Operations
 

Nikolaos Zinas
Multimedia and IT Manager

Nikolaos Zinas, or “Nikos” as he prefers to be known has a wide range of responsibilities in the IT sector of the MCTA.  Not only is he in charge of the multimedia creation, implementation and development of the company but he also provides the technical expertise for the Academy as well as the much needed IT assistance for his less able colleagues!  Prior to his work at the MCTA Nikos was an Internet Marketing Consultant and and has worked with clients on both online marketing and web design projects.


Andrea Higgins
Administration Coordinator

Andrea Higgins is the focal point of the MCTA.  Acting as the central liaison Andrea ensures the smooth running of the Academy; no easy feat with the staff as well as the MCTA touring team placed all round the world!  Andrea is responsible for the administration of the MCTA as well as the travel and coordination of the MCTA squad which is on “Tour” for over 40 weeks a year.  Previously Andrea worked as an Academy Coordinator at the Leeds Tennis Academy for the Lawn Tennis Association.

Alison Rose
Physiotherapist

Alison Rose has been a physiotherapist for 13 years, working with athletes in a variety of sports including tennis, athletics, diving, swimming, rugby, football and triathlon.

Since qualifying from Edinburgh, Alison has worked with athletes at both the Sydney and Athens Olympics, the Athletics World Championships in Edmonton, Paris and Helsinki, and the European Championships in Munich and Gothenburg. She has also worked with UK athletes at the European and World Cross Country Championships. 

As an athlete herself, Alison represented Great Britain in the marathon at the World Student Games and the World Cup in Athens in 1995, the World Championships in Gothenburg in 1995 and the European Championships in Helsinki in 1994.

Bill Ribbans
Honorary Orthopaedic Advisor
